Here you will find a wealth of information concerning the ICF and the multi-disciplinary sport of Canoeing. “Always moving forward” is our tagline and philosophy and developing the sport, keeping up with Canoeing trends and ensuring our sport remains relevant are just a few of our goals.

As this is an Olympic Games year we will have an increasing number of articles geared towards providing as much information as possible about ICF Events, particularly Olympic Qualifiers, athlete profiles and interviews. Our aim is to provide you with content that will enable you to share in the excitement of the Olympic Games.

Looking ahead to London, I am confident that these Olympic Games will supersede all others. Changes have been made to the Canoeing Olympic Programme, and the positive impact will be evident. The newly introduced 200m distance is bound to be a crowd favourite, and the new Olympic Games broadcasting features will ensure that spectators at the venue and those watching from home will experience Canoeing like never before.

Beyond London 2012 the ICF will continue to work on initiatives geared towards developing and promoting Canoeing at the highest level. Steps have also been taken to examine the structure of the ICF and identify areas of improvement and the results of this Governance Review will be delivered at the ICF Congress in St. Petersburg, Russia in November.
